Hisense unveils laser TV technology
Hisense has introduced what the Chinese manufacturer is billing the ‘world’s first’ 100-in 4K wide-angle laser projection television.

You couldn’t miss sponsor Hisense if you caught any of the coverage of this year’s Euro 2016 competition. Whilst many are backing LCD panels to be the future of large Ultra High Definition televisions, the company is pinning its hopes on laser technology, and introduced its 100-in 4K laser projection TV in Paris on the eve of the football final.

The largest TV manufacturer in China by sales, Hisense state that the television can deliver colour saturation and lightness that is equal to or great than LCD products, taking advantage of high-resolution lens and high quality optical engines. It hopes laser televisions like its 100-in model can make large screens more accessible for businesses.

Hisense highlighted the financial benefits of laser projection systems for integrators, and claim that its entertainment system – priced at around the €9,000 (£7,500) mark – can cost as much as nine times less than a typical 100-in 4K LCD TV.

Although no official release date has been publicised, Hisense is expected to release the TV within the next few months.
