Genelec empowers football spirit at FC St. Pauli Museum
FC St. Pauli football club’s museum uses a new Genelec audio installation to immerse visitors into the emotion and history of the club.

Immersive soundscapes, created by the Genelec system, aims to recreate the roar of the crowd, bringing the essence of the club into focus.

The museum, located at the Millerntor-Stadion, uses the surround mix from the Bundesliga’s host broadcaster Sportcast, incorporating chants, claps, and effects to replicate the stadium atmosphere.

To achieve this, Genelec 8010 loudspeakers were selected, selected for their minimal profile which allows the loudspeakers to blend into the museum’s projections, keeping the visuals in focus while delivering punchy sound.

The loudspeakers are paired with an RCF S5012 subwoofer and a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface, delivering a 7.1 mix that captured the intensity of matchday through fan chants and crowd roars.

The room’s natural acoustics were used to deepen the sense of immersion, relying on careful positioning and production adjustments to ensure that the sound system met its goals.
