Elvis Presley could return to the stage in 2028 as a ‘hologram’, marking 50 years since the death of the king of rock and roll.
The announcement was made by Joel Weinshanker, managing partner, Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) during an event at Presley’s former home, Graceland, during an Elvis Week Event on 15 August 2026.
The ‘hologram’ will be one of a series of attractions, which according to Weinshanker includes: “at least four major amazing attractions coming in, things that you’ve never seen before.
“We are going to have a world class, state of the art hologram in Las Vegas within the next 18 months. We’ll see who’s involved, we’ll hear about it, it’s going to be something great.”
Weinshanker stressed that the ‘hologram’ show will be produced by EPE, following a non-EPE show in London which faced backlash for its failure to live up to initial promises of ‘holographic projection’ and AR which was branded as “misleading” by visitors.
No official announcements have been made as to which companies will be involved in the production or where the venue in Las Vegas will be, however the Financial Times reported that Abba Voyage creator, Pophouse, was believed to have been in talks with Presley’s rights holders to create a live show around Elvis Presley in 2024. The technology used to bring Abba Voyage to life by Pophouse and Disney’s special effects company Industrial Light and Magic.
