Multi Academy Award-winning director, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has been announced as the opening keynote speaker for IS 2024, focusing on the importance of storytelling and how technology transforms lives.
Obaid-Chinoy, known for Academy Award-winning documentary shorts such as Saving Face and A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness, became the first filmmaker from Pakistan to win an Oscar, scoring two Oscars by the age of 37.
Additionally, Obaid-Chinoy is also the recipient of four Emmy awards, a Knight International Journalism Award, the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (the second highest civilian award in Pakistan) and was named as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people.
The ISE 2024 opening keynote, presented by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, will take place on January 30 2024 at the Fira in Barcelona, with larger growth predicted for the 20th edition of the show.
