Christie’s VC arm invests in Proto Hologram
Proto, formerly Portl, has announced that investment company, Christie’s Ventures, has invested in the company, paving the way for further collaboration between the two companies.

2022 saw several high profile uses of Proto technology by Christie’s linked to auctions, including the display of digital artworks by Degas, Giacometti and the Lalannes, with presentations by Christie’s curators and executives in hologram form.

Proto specialises in telepresence technology, pioneering new forms of ‘hologram’ technology with its Proto Epic and other products.

Christie’s Ventures is a new company engaging with early stage companies through direct investment, brand support and market access, helping startups to accelerate build-out and adoption.
