Charity golfing event raises over £3,500
The 9th of July saw 60 players from the UK pro audio industry gather at Shaw Hill golf course in Manchester, England for the annual RW Salt charity golfing event. This year the beneficiary was again the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Golfers were afforded the opportunity to show their appreciation for event organiser, and RW Salt MD, Craig Buckley by posing for photographs with a cardboard cut out of him (for a charitable donation of course). A DVD of all the pictures is available (again for a charitable donation!). Simply email the editor.
This year’s winner of the Bob & Kath Salt memorial trophy was Dave Simpson from Pro Audio Systems, who received his award at the evening dinner. The dinner, attended by 120, saw a blind auction of celebrity memorabilia and after-dinner entertainment by industry veteran, and raconteur extraordinaire Dai Vaughan.

2009 also saw the inauguration of new trophy - The Harry Greenaway Memorial trophy, awarded the player spending the most time in bunkers in the round. The first recipient of this prestigious award (and a plastic bucket and spade) was Alan Pennington of The Royal British Legion.
"I’d again like to thank all our golfers, sponsors and other industry friends for the support they continue to give the event, especially in these tough times. I’d also like to thank the Royal British Legion for their own support," concluded Buckley.
