Darkside Audio Visual installed a comprehensive Cameo lighting setup to bring the Tomb Raider live experience to life with stunning visual effects.
In Tomb Raider: The LIVE Experience, teams of eight people experience an artefact hunting adventure in a huge, 30,000 m2 live action course in London.
To bring this video game classic experience to life, integrator Darkside Audio Visual was required to plan and install the lighting, audio and video technology for this project, which included a total of 166 spotlights from Cameo.
The experience moves through single and multi-level areas with one goal: to immersive participants in the story being told, in combination with live actors that contribute to the adventurous experience.
Darkside Audio Visual features fixtures from the Q-Spot, Studio Par, Root Par, TS and Thunder series spread across all areas of the experience, using Q-Spot 15 spots in RGBW and white light versions to emphasise the details featured in the backdrops.
Darker areas required more light intensity, where Q-Spot 40 RGBW and TW (tunable white) 40 watt models were used.
The basic scenery lighting is provided by the Root Par TW and Root Par 6 LED PAR models, simulating natural daylight with the Studio Par in combination with the TS 60 W RGBW and TS 100 WW theatre spots.
To simulate changing daylight situations through snowy Finland and the searing jungles of Costa Rica, Studio Par DTW LED PARs were used to deliver variable white light, from tungsten to cool white, while also using simulating the effects of a flying jet through Tribar 200 IR LED bars, with six mounted outside the aircraft cabin.
