Amptown System Company (ASC) has expanded its partnership with Meyer Werft and Meyer Turku shipyards after landing contracts for media integration on a further four cruise liners.
Leif Witte, CEO of ASC, said: "In-house developments along with the experience gained as equipment supplier and integrator of the ships of the Royal Caribbean Quantum class have encouraged us to proceed along this path by competing for similar projects with a view to filling our order books for the next few years.
“Now we are all set to meet the challenge of proving our know-how of maritime engineering not only where the two projected sister ships of the Quantum class are concerned but also with regard to the four innovative cruise liners in Papenburg and Turku."
Ulrich Müller, founder of ASC and CEO, added that the co-operation would continue in a “target-oriented” way, while Malte Polli-Holstein, ASC key account manager for maritime projects, said: "Where modern cruise liners are concerned, the original 'form follows function' motto of creative people seems to experience a minor but characteristic change to the statement 'form follows fun'. ASC's part in it is to provide and integrate the media equipment products required and to develop and produce custom components for system solutions."
Two of the boats are scheduled to enter service between 2018 and 2021.
