Absen has announced a partnership with media artist and director, Refik Anadol, during ISE 2025 through a digital art installation on the show floor.
Titled ‘California Landscapes’, Absen displays will be used to showcase an experimental example of the stable diffusion model, an emerging AI technology for image generation.
As co-founder of Refik Anadol Studio, the artist explores the synergy between human creativity and machine intelligence by using data as a primary material and collaborating with the neural networks of computerised ‘minds’.
‘California Landscapes’ will be shown on Absen’s booth at ISE 2025, using adaptive discriminator augmentation to generate artificial images from which the creative visualisation of California landscapes will be created in a multi-dimensional space. To create these images, Anadol and his team gathered data from digital archives and publicly accessible sources, processing them using machine learning classification models.
Once the image selection is complete, the AI independently creates abstract landscapes, generating new aesthetic visuals, colour combinations, and unique lines formed by algorithmic connections.
The AI data painting will be displayed on Absen’s MicroLED wall, equipped with multiple Absen image optimisation technologies.
Ruben Rengel, executive vice president, Absen, commented: “We are delighted to showcase Refik Anadol’s groundbreaking work at ISE 2025. This collaboration exemplifies the innovative potential of Absen’s LED display technology, transforming Refik’s visionary art into a fully immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of creativity and technology. We are eager to captivate visitors at our booth with this extraordinary feature and inspire them with what’s possible when art and cutting-edge technology come together.”
