Vitec has announced its second-generation HEVC codec (GEN2) will power its MGW Ace Encoder, a portable HEVC hardware-based encoder.
It can be paired with the MGW Ace Decoder for a hardware-based, end-to-end 4:2:2 10-bit HEVC encode/decode streaming system.
Vitec claims that with HEVC encoding, the MGW Ace can reduce OPEX in point-to-point video transmission.
