Zoom has announced the launch of several features across Zoom Workplace and Business Services, including the general availability launch of Zoom Workflow Automation, that enables users to get more done by automating work, including the help of AI Companion.
Workflow Automation helps users build complex workflows across Zoom Workplace, including Zoom Meetings, Zoom Team Chat, and Zoom Docs, as well as third-party applications. Zoom also announced new Zoom Clips avatars, as well as feature updates for Zoom Rooms, Zoom Docs, and Zoom Whiteboard.
Wei Li, head of Team Chat at Zoom said; "Organisations can use Zoom Workflow Automation to set up workflows across Zoom Workplace and third-party apps, helping teams automate how they work. Workflow Automation not only takes repetitive tasks off of employees’ shoulders, it’s easy to use, even for teams who don’t have technical backgrounds.”
Workflow Automation enables both IT admins and end users to set up steps and actions that will automatically run in a certain order once a trigger occurs. An example of a trigger could be an AI Companion meeting summary generated after a meeting, and automatically having it added to a dedicated Zoom Doc, Google Doc, or Word doc that is then shared in a Team Chat channel. Using Zoom Workflow Automation with AI Companion in this way helps keep teams aligned and productive. Teams who use multiple collaborator platforms often struggle with fragmented communication, unable to keep track of information and project updates, but using Workflow Automation can help teams stay up to date and drive action.
In addition to Workflow Automation, Zoom launched Zoom Workplace and AI Companion feature updates to make collaborating even easier before, during, and after meetings.
Users can generate a Clip by simply selecting from a library of 18 pre-generated avatars and adding a script. Using a template avatar for a Clip removes the need to re-record a video multiple times and helps reduce unnecessary meetings, making it easier for users to communicate effectively, even when in different time zones. Zoom Clips avatars with AI Companion are expected to be available later this month.
Users can now create and distribute forms in Zoom Docs to gather information from others within their organisation or externally. The data table sub-row enables nested items within a table to be created under parent headings for easier management and project tracking. Forms and Data table sub-row is expected to be available later this month. Additionally, users can now instantly create charts in Zoom Docs using data tables with the dashboard feature, as well as use synced data tables to keep data tables updated across different Docs reflecting changes made in synced tables in real time, even from another Doc.
With companion audio for Zoom Rooms, users can get clearer meeting audio without multiple expensive in-room microphones. This new feature enables participants to use a laptop’s microphone as an additional meeting audio source for enhanced sound quality and clarity. The new “listen” feature in companion mode provides the option for users to listen to a meeting through connected headphones or assistive devices, helping improve audio for individuals with hearing impairments or when hearing is difficult.
The YouTube app for Zoom Meetings is coming soon, enabling users to easily search and watch YouTube videos during a Zoom Meeting. Unlike screen sharing, the new app provides video for each participant without the usual lag, making viewing more vibrant and interactive. The YouTube app for Zoom Meetings is expected to be available in the coming weeks.
To facilitate seamless multilingual connection, Zoom Meetings now provides enhanced caption services in Portuguese, with Welsh coming soon, and transcription of Hebrew recordings coming soon as well.
The Zoom AI Companion side panel is now available in more languages to make it easier for global teams to use AI Companion and get the answers they need to streamline their workday. Users can now interact with AI Companion in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Indonesian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Dutch (Netherlands).
Easily organise diagrams in Zoom Whiteboard with containers for advanced diagramming. Users now have the ability to access containers from the shape panel to effortlessly group and organise related objects. Containers for advanced diagramming is expected to be available later this month.
