Zoom has added agentic skills across the Zoom platform, with updates to Zoom AI Companion that include AI enhancements, task execution, and a Zoom Virtual Agent chat.

With new agentic AI Companion capabilities, reasoning and memory is used to take action and execute tasks, add conversational self-service and custom agent creation.

AI enhancements for Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone, Zoom Team Chat, Zoom Docs, and Zoom Contact Centre have been added, as well as the introduction of Zoom’s Virtual Agent for voice, AI intent routing capabilities and quality management features.

AI Companion can execute tasks on behalf of the user, managing multi-step actions with the knowledge of which agents and skills to tap into using reasoning and memory to make decisions, solve problems, and learn over time, as well as task action and orchestration to execute and complete tasks.

New agentic skills include calendar management to help schedule meetings, clip generation for fast clip creation, writing assistance for document creation.

AI Companion will also extend to specialised agents for Zoom Business Services, with Zoom Virtual Agent leveraging memory and reasoning skills for customer self-service to deliver contextual conversations and task action to resolve complex issues.

Using AI Studio, users can create and deploy customisable virtual agents, a feature which will be able in spring 2025.
