Tascam has unveiled its Series 8P Dyna 8-channel mic preamplifier, featuring a single-control analogue compressor for studio and stage usage.
The preamplifier is housed in a 1U rack-mount casing, with a dual S/MUX optical ports, with a noise level of 127dBu.
Two instrument/microphone combo inputs are included on the front panel, with six balanced mic/line inputs on the rear, with each microphone input individually switched +48V phantom power for use with condenser mics.
Dual S/MUX optical outputs on the rear of the preamplifier enables users to operate the unit as a front-end expander for S/MUX or ADAT-equipped audio interfaces.
The Series 8P Dyna’s eight line level analogue channel outputs are provided on both quarter-in balanced TRS connectors and a 25-pin D-Sub connector to route signals to interfaces, recording mixers and front of house consoles.
Front panel analogue overload indicators as well as compression indicators, digital peak and level metre bars with options to connect the D-sub output to a Tascam ML-16D or ML-32D analogue Dante converter.
