Communication Technology has bolstered its Buddy range of desk paging microphones with a solar powered version. The BUD 100E/SP incorporates a solar panel charged cell, which is activated by natural or artificial light.
The new innovation obviates the need for external phantom powering; the microphone is simply connected to a conventional microphone input.
It is also suited to applications, such as those within the vicinity of induction loop systems, where it is necessary to use electret versions of the microphone but not possible to provide the polarising voltage electets require to function.
