Samsung outlines TV technology for hotels

Samsung Electronics Co is targeting the hospitality industry with its Hotel TV (HTV) range.

The system allows guests to navigate hundreds of channels by grouping them into countries and genres. USB slots allow guests to share media, such as photos and films.

All displays are at least 720p with the majority offering full HD capability. Samsung also provides and MP3 cradles and a wireless subwoofer, which can be placed in a discreet location in the room to bolster audio.

The company’s Interactive Remote Control for Hospitality, or SIRCH, enables customisation for hoteliers, allowing them to manage TV settings centrally and send that information to all TVs in the hotel whether they are switched on, off or on standby.
