The latest upgrade to Q-Sys Designer is version 3.1, which was released at ISE 2013.
The new upgrade adds voice-over-IP capabilities and interfacing support for IP PBXs and analogue telephone systems via third-party FXO gateways. With the update installed, telephone calls may now be routed in Q-Sys or Q-Sys audio can be connected to external phone lines.
Other new features include options for users to record paging notifications by dialling in from their telelphone, and the ability for users to determine the hierarchy of codecs for use with connected VoIP systems. The system will always try to connect using the highest-quality codec and users can now determine the order in which successive lower-quality codecs will be attempted when a higher-quality coden is not supported in the connected system.
