NEC announces audience analytics tool

NEC Display Solutions has launched FieldAnalyst, a system designed to automatically detect human faces in captured video footage.

The images, captured in both digital signage or traffic camera applications, can be inspected to estimate the numbers of entries or exits, gender and age groupings and the data is output in real time. This will allow users to conduct a variety of marketing analysis tasks automatically.

Two versions are available – Gate, which specialises in counting only, and Signage, a more advanced version to access additional audience analytics such as gender and age.
