MediaStar now shipping Media Manager 10.5

IPTV and streaming provider MediaStar Systems has announced the availability of Media Manager v10.5, the latest iteration of the company’s CMS.

As well as H265 file support and HDCP 2.2 Pro stream support, this version also enables users to select from a wide range of languages and implement customised translations.

The new solution was previewed at ISE in Amsterdam in February, and becomes available to order today. It has been designed to bring enhanced support for organisations working globally who will be able to select translation files and bring them in to Media Manager, which will set up shortcuts not just to one, but to multiple languages as needed. Amongst the languages supported are Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Japanese, Arabic, Russian, Hebrew and all Unicode character sets. In addition, custom translations will allow local dialects and alphabets to be easily chosen by the system administrator.

Mark Stanborough, sales director EMEA & APAC at MediaStar Systems, said: “We support customers internationally, and these enhancements really do provide them with international functionality. Companies in China, the Gulf States and Russia, for example, will now be able to select the appropriate dialect, language and alphabet to use in support of content, whether it’s for live broadcasts, locally encoded streams, HLS, iVOD or VOD. Globally sourced content can be localised with the addition of a ticker or overlay in the local language.”

Users will also benefit from a new enterprise search capability in v10.5 of Media Manager. This allows organisations to search across their assets, whether hardware players, streams or media sources, and identify them quickly.

Playout logs are included to provide instant tracking of content that has been broadcast, and where it was displayed, and this proof-of-play is useful for assessing the distribution of specific ads, promotions, messages or even channels. The data can be centralised and exported to third-party analysis tools, with many benefits, including the ability to cancel subscriptions to channels that are rarely requested, or move specific displays if they are not selected for viewing content.

Media Manager 10.5 provides H265 file support, and HDCP 2.2 Pro streaming support, giving users the reassurance that content is fully protected and meets with the appropriate standards.
