Cabletime has launched a Mac OS X version of its MediaStar Media Portal that operates through a Chrome browser to deliver a web page within MediaStar Media Manager.
Media Manager is available on a user’s PC, tablet or smartphone. By selecting specific icons users can select media assets including re-broadcast streams, live streams or iVOD content for playback. The Media Manager administrator can determine in advance the access rights to content and deliver different pages for different constituencies.
On-screen controls allow users to seek, play and pause the media as required from their chosen device. In addition, portal pages can be customised with corporate logos and backgrounds and images that are specific to an organisation can be used to represent the content, allowing for easy navigation.
