Lightware visual engineering has announced what it claims to be the world’s first DisplayPort over single fibre extender, the DP-OPT-TX/RX100 pair.

The company says it can extend a DisplayPort 1.1a signal over a single multimode fibre, up to 2000m. It supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 and data rates of up to 10.8 Gbps.

It also fully supports content protection systems such as HDCP and DPCP.
