Igloo Vision packs shared VR tech into standalone media player

Igloo Vision has packaged its shared VR technology into a standalone unit to launch the Igloo Immersive Media Player (IMP).

The media player comes equipped with integrated apps such as Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Unity, Unreal, Zoom, GSuite, Adobe and YouTube, as well as the Igloo software suite.

It has a layer-based system and supports many different types of content, in different formats, from different sources at the same time. Sources can be switched between or viewed at once in multiple panels. The media player is compatible with LED screens, flat panels, and laser, lamp and 3D projectors. It has in-built blending and warping of projector outputs.

The Igloo Immersive Media Player is available in four levels. The most powerful configuration is equipped with Dual RTX 8000 GPUs and supports 4K inputs and outputs to 5 x 4K. It provides smooth playback at HD and 4K and is suitable for immersive storytelling, 360-degree films, room-scale presentations, immersive workspaces, training and simulation facilities, data visualisation suites, control rooms, research and development, and experience centres.
