Gefen has targeted both small and large digital signage installations with its HD Player that controls content over IP.
Users can upload pre-recorded video in multiple formats, background music and scrolling text to customize their content. Playlists can be scheduled to the second using the calendar function, accessed using Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 software.
The player works with multiple video formats including MPEG1/2, DivX, Xvid, H.264 and WMV9, as well as MP3 audio files. Photos should be in .jpg format. Its small metallic enclosure with built-in mounting brackets allows it to be mounted behind or near displays.
Equipped with HDMI and VGA/audio outputs, the player outputs 1080p visuals for high definition imagery. Users can upload content to the player’s 2Gb flash drive using an Ethernet IP connection or USB ingestion to change playlists, content, scrolling text and music. An included IR remote gives control of additional functionality at the site.
