Extron launches 4K HDMI matrix switchers

Extron has debuted its DXP HD 4K Plus series of HDMI matrix switchers, available in 16x8 and 16x16 sizes.

The switchers support data rates up to 18 Gbps and video resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 colour sampling, HDR, deep colour up to 12-bit, 3D, HD lossless audio formats and CEC.

Extron’s EDID minder and key minder are included, with compliance with HDCP encrypted content.

The HDCP 2.3-compliant matrix switchers can also integrate with audio de-embedding and audio breakaway capabilities, capable of combining with multiple control options.
The DXP HD 4K Plus series can integrate with a local audio system, with embedded digital audio from a source able to be switched with corresponding video signals to any combination of selected HDMI outputs.

Built-in audio de-embedders are included to allow signals to be routed to analogue audio outputs made available as line level stereo audio on captive screw or S/PDIF connectors based on the model.

The internal de-embedders do not require an external HDMI audio extraction product, providing automatic cable equalisation on each input and independent output reclocking to reshape and restore video signal timing.
