Extron Electronics has announced the FOX T USW 103, a three input HDMI and VGA switcher with an integrated fibre optic transmitter.
The product is designed for long haul transmission of HDCP-compliant HDMI, RGBHV, or HD component video, stereo audio, and RS-232 control signals over fibre optic cabling.
The three input switcher uses Extron all-digital technology to provide pixel-for-pixel performance with signals up to 1920x1200, including HDTV 1080p/60.
Analogue AV input signals are digitised and the FOX T USW 103 includes EDID Minder, Key Minder, audio embedding, auto-input switching, RS-232 control, and real-time system monitoring. It was designed to be compact and low profile for installation beneath tables or in lecterns.
It is part of the line of FOX Series fibre optic products and is compatible with FOX Series HDMI, DVI Plus, DVI, and VGA receivers. The transmitter can also be used in combination with FOX Series matrix switchers for HDCP-compliant signal distribution systems up to 1000x1000 and larger.
