DVIGear HyperLight cables support DisplayPort 1.4 signals

DVIGear has introduced its HyperLight series of Active Optical Cables (AOC) that support the extension of DisplayPort 1.4 signals with aggregate data rates up to 32.4 Gbps. (HBR3).

The cables are HDCP 1.4 / 2.2 compliant and support resolutions up to 8K / 30Hz (4:4:4) for cable lengths up to 50m and 4K / 60Hz (4:4:4) for cables up to 100m.

HyperLight cables are constructed using a hybrid design of four POF (Polyfluorinated Optical Fiber) and six copper wires. They are plenum-rated and have a minimum bend radius of 2mm. Two removable DisplayPort docking connectors can be detached to reveal a connector cross-section that measures 10 by 12.4mm. The docking connectors include a locking pin and an optional pulling sleeve can be provided.

DisplayPort signals are transmitted over four optical fibres in effort to provide immunity from environmental noise. The optical transmission path provides a low RFI / EMI profile, which DVIGear claims allows them to be installed in sensitive applications with strict security requirements. The cables draw power from the connected DisplayPort source. Cables are available in lengths up to 100m.
