Digital Projection will provide the first EMEA unveiling of its Satellite Modular Laser System (MLS), in addition to two of its MultiView setups also being shown on the ‘VR at ISE’ section of the show.
Originally unveiled as a sneak-preview concept in 2019, Digital Projection will unveil the new technology which allows users to use the technology for a range of applications including single projector installations, multi-channel domes, caves and simulators.
The MLS separates the light source, with associated power and thermal management to a remote location which allows for a projection ‘head’ that contains minimal optical and video processing.
The projection head and light source are linked by two fibre-optic cables which can extend to 100m long.
The Satellite MLS will be developed around WUXGA, Native 4K and 8K resolutions, incorporating Digital Projection’s ‘MultiView’ technology.
The modular design of the system allows for a one-to-many or a many-to-one relationship between the light sources and the projection heads.
Each projection head is designed with a closed-loop cooling system, sealing critical optical components from a buildup of contaminants.
MultiView VR at ISE
Two MultiView setups will be shown at the new ‘VR at ISE’ section of the show, based around Digital Projection’s Insight 4K HFR 360 projectors.
The setups use MultiView 3D projection, one projector and fast frame rates to accommodate multiple viewers, with each being tracked and featuring a few of the image that remains appropriate to changing positions. This allows users to see and interact with each other.
One MultiView system will also enable visitors to walk around and manipulate a virtual object in a number of ways, with the others demonstrating how the technology can be used in a visitor attraction space by allowing users to virtually explore ancient sites and examine virtual artefacts.
E-Vision laser projectors will also be used to provide the visuals for an interactive VR theme park ride at the show, designed and run by Lightspeed Design. DepthQ technology will be used to immerse visitors in an aquatic environment, with the E-Vision projectors being used in tandem with a VIOSO Panadome screen.
Digital Projection will also unveil other products on its stand at ISE, with a 4K LED wall to be shown at the show.
ISE 2020 will run from 11-14 February 2020 at the RAI Amsterdam, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
