Crestron says backboxes boost flexibility

Crestron has released a range of universally compatible backboxes with adaptability to suit an array of devices, including Crestron in-wall iPad docs and Excite 5.25" and 6.5" in-wall speakers.

The backboxes have been designed for multi-purpose and multi-regional use. Furthermore, if an end-user has installed a Crestron keypad and wishes to upgrade to a Crestron touch screen, the switch is easier with the new products.

The two new models – the BBI-UNIV-A and BBI-UNIV-B – come in two sizes to work across a wide selection of the Crestron range.

Installation requires a suitable aperture/opening in the wall and once the cables have been fed through with the conduit, the housing is then fastened into the wall. Once the housing is in place, the equipment (touch screen, Excite speaker, iPad docking station etc) clamps to it or can be secured with screws into the mineral fibreboard.
