CobraNet added to wireless microphones

Beyerdynamic has announced the NE 900 D Cobra 2-channel receiver for its Opus 900 wireless microphone system. It provides an integrated CobraNet interface to connect the receiver to the CobraNet-enabled devices of over 40 manufacturers via standard Ethernet cables.

The CobraNet connectivity provides several advantages to the beyerdynamic wireless system, especially for large-capacity systems or complex multi-room installations. Cabling volume and therefore time is considerably reduced for the integrator, and there is more flexibility in system design is possible due to the nodal nature of the CobraNet network.

Key technical features of the system include an integrated 2-channel audio interface, transmission of word lengths of 20 or 24 bits, and latency support for 1.33ms, 2.66ms and 5.33ms
