Blackmagic Design launches Ultimatte 12 models at IBC 2022

Blackmagic Design has announced four new models of the Ultimatte 12 real time compositing processors, designed for next-gen broadcast graphics.

The new Ultimatte 12 models add improved edge handling, colour separation, colour fidelity and enhanced spill suppression with four new models: Ultimatte 12 HD, Ultimatte 12 4K and the Ultimatte 12 8K model.

Blackmagic has also released the Ultimatte 12 HD Mini model with HDMI connections, designed to allow ATEM Mini users to access broadcast quality keying to build fixed camera virtual sets.

Each model incorporates built-in frame stores to key using stills for backgrounds, eliminating the cost of external equipment.

Ultimatte 12 includes one touch keying technology to analyse a scene and automatically set over 100 parameters. This model also adds an improved flare algorithm to remove green tinting and spill, as well as automatically sampling colours to create mattes for walls, floors and other parts of the image with necessary corrections.

The Ultimatte 12 4K and Ultimatte 12 8K models both feature advanced 12G-SDI connections for users to operate with current HD video formats as well as future ultra HD and 8K video formats.

12G-SDI enables users to access high frame rate ultra HD via one BNC connection, plugging into regular HD equipment.
