Biamp has unveiled Vocia, its new public address, paging and voice alarm system, at ISE 2010.
Vocia introduces several new concepts to paging and voice evacuation systems, including combined distribution processing and page routing, as well as networked audio and control.
This networked, modular approach is said to eliminate the potential for a single point of failure and allows for the design and construction of a system that is easily expandable from a single paging station and amplifier to one of multiple zones with hundreds of I/O channels.
The system takes advantage of standard Ethernet networking technology as well as being CobraNet-enabled.
