Whilst recently publicised efforts to product haptic feedback on touch screens have focused on electrical fields, the approach taken by a partnership between NEC and Tokyo Institute of Technology is a distinctly lower tech affair.
The team has used anchored to the corners of a display to tug it in the appropriate direction whenever force is expected by interaction with the display, causing it to move under the fingers of the user.
