Intel has deployed more than 1,200 drones in a record breaking light show for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
The 1,218 synchronised Shooting Star drones created snowboarders, the Olympic rings and abstract shapes and patterns to celebrate the beginning of the games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Although the show was
for the Opening Ceremony it wasn’t actually
at the Opening Ceremony; high winds forced the team behind the performance to pre-record it for playback at the event.
The Guinness Book of World Records has recognised the performance as “the most unmanned aerial vehicles airborne simultaneously”.
The last time we reported on Intel’s drone fleet it had smashed its own record with a
performance featuring 500 unmanned vehicles.
