Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has followed in the footsteps of Tupac to become the latest high-profile public figure to address an audience as a Pepper's Ghost illusion. Among the many differences between the politician and successful rapper is that Erdogan is alive and used the technique to address members of his Justice and Development (AKP) party in Turkish town Izmir without having to travel to the event.
The projection was staged by Turkish company Polyvision Vision Systems who filmed Erdogan in front of a green screen before creating the 10ft tall illusion in Izmir.
Victorian parlour ticks may do little to take attention away from political scandal currently surrounding Erdogan's government but it certainly went down well in front of the crowd of party faithful.
Other politicians have deployed the technique before including chief minister of Gujarat,
Narendra Modi, who reached 53 sites simultaneously and landed himself a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
