A new entrant to the gesture control market, Thalmic Labs, has created MYO, a 3D gesture control system that relies on motion sensing and muscular activity for its control inputs. The armband device senses muscle movements and gestures and transmits signals to a paired controller device via Bluetooth 4.0.
The concept is impressive, with the main drawback being that it can only sense motion in one arm rather than the whole body pickup of its competitors.
