ST Engineering Anytcip has delivered what is reported to be North Africa’s first VR cave at the Zarzis Smart Centre in Tunisia.
The VR cave aims to improve Zarzis’ role as a technology hub, providing international businesses and professionals with tools for prototyping, specialised training, and 3D modelling across sectors including the automotive, aeronautics, medicine, architecture, and oil and gas industries.
The installation aims to drive innovation and improve the competitiveness of regional and international business. The cave will be accessible to educational institutions across Tunisia, including primary and secondary schools, universities, and training centres. The facility will aim to improve educational programmes by providing students with technology-driven learning opportunities.
The cave environment features three Barco F80 projectors, projecting onto three 2.4x3m screens at a resolution of 4,800x2,000 pixels. A four-camera tracking system is included, as well as 70 pairs of 3D glasses, offering immersion and real-time interaction.
The cave can also double as a 2D and 3D cinema for entertainment and professional applications.
Johan Besnainou, director, France, ST Engineering Anytcip, commented: “We are extremely proud to have delivered the first CAVE in North Africa.
“This project is a significant milestone for Antycip, and we are excited to see the transformative impact it will have on the region.”
