Sony scraps OLED in Japan
Sony will pull OLED TVs from Japan’s shelves, according to a Reuters report that suggested the company was disappointed with demand.

The electronics giant says it will still sell the panels, which were launched more than two years ago, in North American and European markets. In Japan, Sony currently sells an 11” set for 200,000 yen (€1,600). Reuters says the company will end sales of OLED TV in Japan when inventory runs out.

Sony’s withdrawal from the Japanese marketplace follows news from the LG Camp that suggests the company will begin mass production of 20”, 30” and 40” OLED panels.
