Egyptian activists are using projection technology to attack the country’s military regime, according to The National, an English language news resource for the Middle East. The projectors fire onto buildings and show images claimed to depict Egyptian soldiers attacking protestors. At times the activists simply beam text denouncing military rule in the North African country.
Hundreds of similar projections have infiltrated the city under the direction of Kazeboon, an organisation described as "a loosely connected group of activists".
The projectors are being used to highlight footage that otherwise may not be seen by the Egyptian public, many of whom have no access to the internet and rely on state-run media.
The National also claims Kazeboon is staging screenings of footage from the internet that has not been shown on Egyptian media and uses makeshift screens erected in various areas of Cairo.
