Midwich has announced the completion of a fundraising initiative for its mental health charity partner Mind with 24 Midwich employees volunteering to work 100 hours in a local Mind charity shop in Diss, Norfolk, UK.
The staff worked during the build-up to the Christmas period, one of the busiest times of the year for the shop, handling a surge of donations which required sorting, steaming, pricing and displaying in addition to creating a festive window display.
The fundraising activities were launched in 2019, with Midwich announcing its ‘charity pledge’ which forms part of the company’s corporate and social responsibility focus, committing to raise between £40,000-£50,000 for the charity throughout 2019-2020.
Helene Beales, digital marketing manager, Midwich, took part as a volunteer during the fundraiser; Beales said: “I was delighted to be given the opportunity to volunteer during work time at the local Mind Charity Shop. Mind is our chosen charity for 2019-2020 and in addition to the various fundraising activities being carried out by Midwich, we have also installed a ‘donation station’ in our office. This way Midwich Diss staff can keep our local shop topped up with donations. It was great to see how these donations were sorted and put out into the shop to be sold, raising valuable funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
