Microsoft sees telemedicine role for Kinect
Presenting at the Pacific Health Summit in Seattle at the end of June, Microsoft’s chief research and strategy officer Craig Mundie showed how medical healthcare providers could use Kinect Avatar technology to improve care. In one scenario, which he demonstrates in the video, Mundie showed patients attending a group therapy session. Instead of showing real images, the system shows avatars, and allows the capture of detailed body language whilst maintaining anonymity within the group.

Another scenario that Mundie demonstrated was doctors using Kinect interact with patient records. Speaking a patient's name, he called up a medical history, which he then leafed through with gestures.
