Medium has announced that it will exclusively distribute Metz Connect’s range of cabling products in the UK.
Roy Martin, head of the connectivity division at Medium, commented: “Metz Connect is a driving force behind structured cabling and connectivity globally so to get them on board is fantastic. With IT and AV converging at an increased rate, we need to offer far more than just the technology. Medium must be able to provide advice on structured network cabling, and the importance of legislative change that will soon effect the entire AV industry. We are now in a position to do this.”
The distributor has recently introduced briefings for its customers on the EU Construction Product Directive (CPD), which has developed into Construction Products Regulation (CPR). The CPR will be applicable as law in all member states from July 2017 onwards, and will affect anyone installing any type of cabling product (including category cabling) as part of a fixed installation.
“With the new legislative changes coming into effect, we want to make sure the AV Industry has access to rigorously tested and approved cabling and connectivity solutions which naturally meet these standards,” added Kevan Sproston, sales manager for cabling solutions for UK and Eire at Metz Connect.
