Lightware achieves EcoVadis Bronze rating for environmental sustainability
Lightware Visual Engineering has announced that it has been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze sustainability rating, placing it in the top 35% of assessed businesses for sustainability performance.

EcoVadis is a sustainability assessment platform that aims to help companies measure sustainability performance, enabling comparisons and evaluations of sustainability practices among suppliers and business partners. The criteria involves assessing organisational performance based on respect for human rights, reduction of environmental impacts, and ethical business conduct across areas including environmental protection and sustainable procurement.

Lightware’s first sustainability report highlights the company’s approach to responsibility and sustainability across multiple aspects of its operations, including investment in energy-efficient office solutions, waste reduction practices, and the design of energy-efficient products.

Lightware has implemented an in-house design and manufacturing process to reduce its carbon footprint, minimising product packaging, and consolidating the delivery process to save fuel. Lightware employees are encouraged to work from home to reduce the number of work-related journeys, while also encouraging green transport options such as electric carsharing, which is part of employees’ salary packages.

The company also aims to install a rooftop solar park at its new headquarters, placing a greater emphasis on environmental protection and sustainable energy practices.

Gergely Vida, CEO, Lightware, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze sustainability rating, which represents an important milestone as we deliver on our ESG objectives.

“Lightware is also committed to continuous improvement, and we look forward to working with all our stakeholders to further enhance our practices and make a positive contribution to a more sustainable business ecosystem.”
