L-Acoustics launches global Education Partner Program for university audio training
L-Acoustics has launched a new global Education Partner Program designed to bring professional audio training and certification directly into university-level education.

The L-Acoustics Education Partner Program aims to bridge the gap between academic audio teaching and the practical demands of the live sound industry by integrating L-Acoustics’ professional training and certification pathways into academic curricula. Partner institutions will be able to offer students industry-recognised qualifications alongside traditional theoretical and studio-based learning.

The move comes as demand for skilled live sound professionals continues to grow across concerts, festivals, corporate events and immersive experiences. While academic programmes provide strong foundations in audio theory, L-Acoustics says the sector increasingly requires hands-on experience with real-world systems, workflows and high-pressure production environments.

“Universities excel at teaching the theory and science of audio, and when combined with hands-on experience using professional live sound systems, students gain the complete skill set the industry demands,” said Luca Iacomino, director of education operations at L-Acoustics. “Through this program, we're empowering academic institutions to deliver the same professional certification that working engineers receive.”

Participating universities gain access to L-Acoustics’ structured learning curriculum, developed through decades of professional training activity that has reached nearly 20,000 audio professionals worldwide. Faculty members can become L-Acoustics Certified Trainers, enabling them to deliver official courses and award recognised certifications to students.

The programme also provides access to L-Acoustics loudspeaker systems for educational use, allowing students to train on the same technologies used in large-scale touring, fixed installations and major events.

The inaugural intake includes 17 university partners from across multiple regions, representing a mix of educational models and programme types. L-Acoustics says all participating institutions were selected based on their track record in audio education and their focus on preparing students for professional careers.

“This program represents a long-term investment in the future of our industry,” said Etienne Corteel, global director of education at L-Acoustics. “These students will enter the market with a level of practical expertise that would have traditionally taken years to develop, and that benefits everyone: the graduates themselves, the venues and production companies who hire them, and ultimately the audiences.”

Beyond graduation, the initiative is designed to create an ongoing professional ecosystem, connecting students to L-Acoustics’ global learning community and providing Certified Provider partners with access to a pipeline of trained, certified engineers.

The Education Partner Program builds on the company’s expanded Education Division, which delivered nearly 100,000 hours of training and issued 14,000 education certificates globally in 2025.
