Infocomm International has announced that Stephen Dubner, co-author of Freakonomics, will deliver the keynote address at InfoComm 2016. This year’s event takes place from June 4 to 10, 2016 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre and Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino.
The author, journalist and media personality has sold over 7 million copies of books from the Freakonomics series in more than 40 countries since 2005.
Dubnor also hosts a Freakonomics Radio podcast and runs the Freakonomics blog continuing his commentary on economic trends.
At Infocomm 2016, Dubner will discuss how emerging communication technologies are changing the behaviour of users. He will look at what this behaviour can tell the industry about the kinds of problems that can and can't be solved by communication technology applications in asking ‘ What business opportunities can be created by these behaviours, and conversely, what false assumptions should be avoided in promoting new technologies?’
Jason McGraw, CTS, CAE, senior vice president of expositions at InfoComm, commented: “Stephen Dubner illuminates the unseen forces driving human behaviour. His data-driven perspective will help InfoComm attendees better understand the most complex, failure-prone piece of any given AV system – the user. By looking at the factors that drive usage, InfoComm 2016 attendees will gain insight into how to nurture the successful adoption of new technologies."
Dubner will deliver his keynote speech at 4 pm PST on June 7, 2016, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino's Paradise North Event Centre (located adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Centre).
