More than 100 Genelec loudspeakers were used to support stunning visuals for visitors in an interactive journey through the natural world.
The Zukan Museum Ginza located in Tokyo is a modern museum that focuses on immersing visitors in alternative realities for entertainment and education. Genelec loudspeakers were installed to faithfully recreate the ecosystem of forests and water environments, where visitors observe and record virtual creatures in their natural habitat.
The sound production and UX design was handled by Invisi, creating 150 channels of sound for multiple areas within the museum. There are no physical separations between areas, meaning that transitions from one area to another needed to be smooth and distinctive.
A common tonal scale was used between adjacent areas to prevent sounds from clashing with each other, creating an audio boundary partition between areas.
85 compact 8010 active studio loudspeakers are used, with 23 8020 models and seven 7360 subwoofers throughout the space.
Genelec’s 8000-420 short wall mount and 8000-416 truss mounts were also employed to achieve flexible installations within the museum.
