Distributor Exertis UK has told employees of its plans to cut headcount by more than 90%, according to a report by IT Channel Oxygen.
The distributor has put the vast majority of its staff into a 45-day consultation period. It has operations across sites in Basingstoke, Burnley, and Elland in Yorkshire
Exertis have not yet officially commented.
The piece in IT Channel Oxygen said that staff were formally told yesterday of proposals to cut headcount from around 1,200 to just 130.
Exertis was purchased by Aurelis an international private equity firm for £100m earlier in 2025. Sources have told CRN allege that the new owners have halted payments to certain suppliers linked to a previous credit issue, with no clear timeline for resolution.
