Unveiling its results for the first quarter of 2010, Barco has announced a return to profitable growth at the start of the year.
The company’s net income for Q1 2010 was 4.1m Euro as opposed to a net loss of 0.9m Euro for Q1 2009.
The MES (Media & Entertainment and Simulation business group) showed increased orders in both APAC and EMEALA, whilst it reported flat business in North America. The group as a whole increased sales 9% since Q1 2009.
Mr Van Zele, president and CEO of Barco said: “These results illustrate that we have taken the right measures to deal decisively with the crisis of 2009 and that we have repositioned Barco for profitable growth in the years to come.”
