Systems integrator ASC has equipped more than 400 rooms with media technology at the Olympus European headquarters in Hamburg.
In summer 2021 in the heart of Hamburg, the global medical technology company Olympus moved into its new headquarters for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and for Olympus Deutschland.

The sustainably constructed new building focuses on interaction and new ways of working and offers space for more than 1,200 employees on 11 floors and an area of 35,000m2. To promote flexible and hybrid collaboration, Olympus relies on AV technology and activity-based working in the new office building. AV technology plays a central part in creating a future-oriented environment to fully support a collaborative working approach at Olympus.
Amptown System Company (ASC) has equipped more than 400 rooms with AV tech, the brief was to find answers to the constantly changing office world. The project also involved AV consultants macom.

Training rooms, meeting and conference rooms, an auditorium, as well as rooms for personal exchange are designed for modern working in this sustainable and innovative office building and promote flexible and hybrid collaboration between employees and clients. In addition to a multitude of freely selectable spaces, there are also four central areas that promote cross-departmental exchange and creative work and were co-designed by employees.
Crestron is the central media control system and networks the AV devices in the rooms into a single system and handles the transmission of audio and video signals via the Crestron Digital Media System. In order to allow free movement in the room and simultaneous control of the media systems without restrictions, this client requestes the implementation of a Mobile Control App.

Another highlight of the AV systems intergration is the equipping of various work areas with the latest generation of Microsoft Surface Hubs 2S and the integration of these into the AV media system. The Olympus Campus project is considered one of the largest Surface Hub roll-outs in Europe last year. In addition to the 50-in, the latest 85-in versions were also used.
In the Olympus Medical Training Center, employees and customers can experience medical technology in theory and practice. These training areas were also equipped with AV technology by ASC. Other special rooms such as the central exchange areas, showrooms, the auditorium and a workshop area also received media technology and custom-fit systems.

The central element in the auditorium, which is designed for approximately 140 people, is a videowall consisting of 3x3, 55-in frameless Barco UniSee displays. For the additional transmission of image content, two additional 85-in Samsung displays are used, which were integrated into the rear side walls of the auditorium. Ceiling-mounted PZT cameras and ceiling microphones provide the necessary video and audio signals for video conferences.
