To remain one of the top-ranked places to study in the UK, Southampton University has invested in a highly flexible new building with eight floors of AV. Paul Milligan reports.
The University of Southampton, on the south coast of England, is home to 25,000 students and is ranked in the top 20 of UK universities. In 2016 the university received planning permission to develop a new teaching and learning centre on its Highfield Campus, which is now home to the University’s Centenary Building. It has been named so in celebration of 100 years of teaching at Highfield Campus and offers an impressive range of AV facilities across eight floors.This project was tendered by the main contractor BAM Construction. The brief was to provide a modern and innovative teaching and learning centre to improve the student experience and help ensure the University of Southampton maintains is position as one of the top 100 universities globally (QS World University Rankings 2019).
