Review of Meyer Constellation acoustic system

With its Constellation acoustic system, Meyer Sound pledges to change a room’s acoustical properties instantly, with the touch of a button.

The system is designed to provide effective way of providing optimal, yet flexible acoustics in building design.
Combining the company’s patented algorithm, advanced digital processing, and miniature transducer technology with decades of research into the acoustical attributes of exceptional listening spaces, Meyer claims Constellation provides flexibility unattainable with traditional mechanical methods of variable acoustics, such as movable walls, drapes, orchestra shells, or secondary chambers. The product is provided as an integrated, turnkey system, meaning that Meyer Sound’s Constellation team will work with the entire design team to guarantee that the results meet all of the agreed project goals.

Why did you choose this product?

My client, a bank, has a boardroom that is rectangular and long and they were having difficulty hearing what someone was saying from one end of the room to another. They could easily have zones where we could have created an extension of the reverberation time but the challenge was how we were going to fit all this in one room. We chose Meyer Sound’s Constellation system as it is much more than just a voice lift system, it gives the client any acoustic environment they would like. Two weeks after we decided to install a Meyer Constellation system the bank formed a choir. Suddenly there was a demand to get the Carnegie Hall into Jyske Bank and now with the push of a button that is possible.

What did you like about it?

You buy the complete package from Meyer Sound and you get all the products from them as well even though some of them are OEM products from other manufacturers. You end up with a system that Meyer takes pride in from the day they deliver it to the day it gets taken out. You also get detailed plans from Meyer that make it easier for you during the set up process to communicate with them on how the changes in the system need to be done. What I have found with other manufacturers is that they just deliver the products and leave the rest to you; if you are lucky you can call the tech support between nine and four. Here you have a 24/7 365 service where can you speak to someone that really knows what they are talking about.
