Review of Delta Media Server from 7th Sense Design

The Delta Media Server from 7thSense Design is reviewed by Paul Kent from Electrosonic in the UK.

Why did you choose this product?

Electrosonic first utilised the Delta platform when we were looking for an uncompressed, synchronisable media player to be used in multiple attractions for a theme park client in 2004. We did a side-by-side comparison with the other players that were available at the time and we found Delta to be more user-friendly and fit for purpose. Because of our relationship with 7th Sense we have continued to work with Delta as the products have been updated over the years. The theme park client, because of the support they’ve been receiving from 7th Sense and because the product’s been so reliable, had very little wish to experiment with any other players when they updated their AV system recently. The Delta is a very powerful device, not just in terms of video replay but with the added features such as timeline programming of other external events.

What do you like about it?

At Electrosonic we look at other systems and do use them from time to time. The abilities of the Delta Media server to deal with uncompressed video streams is why we stick with it. The support we’ve received from 7th Sense has been great and as far as I’m aware that’s the feeling amongst other users of the company’s equipment. The user GUI has been refined over the years and has resulted in a system that when you follow the work flow correctly is easy to set up and rock solid.
